Bookworld India
Catalogue overview
Phase 1 workflow
- Upload a distributor Excel/CSV source
- Map columns and normalize controlled values
- Validate ISBN, data types and suspicious values
- Review duplicates and proposed changes
- Approve or reject the staged batch
- Production importer writes canonical catalogue only after approval
Start a staged import
Files are copied into private local staging. The original distributor workbook is never changed.

Catalogue
The production catalogue is Work → Edition → Product. Approved staged records will appear here after a PostgreSQL production database is configured.
Search fields are prepared for title, ISBN, contributor, publisher, subject, description, contents and permitted OCR.
Publishers and imprints
Controlled publisher and imprint masters are part of the PostgreSQL schema. Import review proposes normalized publisher records instead of repeating free text.
Subjects
The subject master is hierarchical. A closure table supports fast browsing from a broad subject down to curated sub-subjects.
Suppliers and offers
Supplier stock and costs never overwrite bibliographic identity. One product can have multiple supplier SKUs, costs, procurement times and stock snapshots.
Rights and digital assets
Every permission defaults to unknown / not public. A public cover, preview or OCR asset requires an explicit rights grant with optional expiry and evidence.
Data issues
Open an import batch to filter malformed ISBNs, duplicate candidates, missing metadata, and suspicious price, year, stock and discount values.
Discovery administration
Loading controlled subjects, collections, aliases and match candidates…
